Keeping your teeth clean will keep your gums healthy and help to prevent cavities and tooth loss. The American Dental Association recommends that you have your teeth cleaned professionally every 6 months, if you are free from gum disease. If there is periodontal disease present, the recommendation is to have your teeth cleaned every 3 months, or four times a year. During your routine cleaning, our hygienist and dentist are checking your teeth, your gums, your joints, looking for medical conditions that my manifest dentally, and screening for oral cancer. Bitewings x-rays are taken periodically, and photos are taken if there is an area of concern. Our office believes in Lifetime Care. Lifetime care is taking care of the whole person, enabling you to keep your teeth for as long as possible, all while forming life long relationships with the people behind the smiles.
